Andorra

We currently have one Great Bernese Mountain Dog, Andorra. She is 50% Pyrenees and 50% Bernese. She is three years old and one of the best dogs I have ever owned.

Our Beliefs

Our current goal is to breed back to the Bernese Mountain Dog and create a line of dogs with an extended lifespan, less stubborn demeanor for a GB, & retain that loyal guardian of the GB. Outcrossing is something we have researched and we do believe in. It is a quality over quantity idea for us! We want to provide the best family members coming into your home!

Qualities of Great Bernese

In general, Great Berneses are known for their calm demeanor and loyal dispositions. They are gentle, affectionate, and intelligent animals. This breed typically gets attached to one person in the household and will seek that person’s attention and affection whenever possible.

As mentioned, the Great Bernese is bread from the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Great Pyrenese. Both parents are from working-class families and have long distinguished lines. The Bernese Mountain Dog, for example, comes from Switzerland where they worked on farms for centuries.

On the other hand, the Great Pyrenees is thought to have originated in Asia or Siberia but has been used as a herding dog in Europe since the Bronze Age. Both breeds are recognized by the American Kennel Club, although their offspring have not yet had that distinction, even though they have been bred since the mid-1900s.

As puppies, the Great Bernese can exhibit qualities and traits from both of their parents. They are generally playful, affectionate, and even a bit clumsy at times before they grow into their large paws. These puppies should also be trained at an early age as they can be quite stubborn and independent. Although they are not lacking in intelligence, establishing a firm hand from the onset is essential.

What We Do

We don’t take breeding our dogs lightly and want to provide families with wonderful companions. Having the most loving and loyal dogs coming home with you is our main goal. Our puppies are hand raised and whelped in our home with love and lots of attention. They have plenty of room to run and play indoors and outdoors. Our puppies are socialized with our adult dogs, our family, goats, cat, pigs & outside arranged stimulus. We arrange for your puppy to be around certain environments it will need to thrive when it comes home! We begin potty training, grooming, car rides, good manners training, monitored social interaction in small groups, & more. By the time your puppy is eight weeks old he/she will be a confident, happy, healthy puppy!
